Before you buy a used Ford
- Check for recalls. Search the serial number (VIN) in Transport Canada's recalls database, which covers recalls issued in Canada since 1970 (Transport Canada).
- Ask for the service records and any manufacturer warranty that's left.
- Know your rights. All-in prices, the label, Quebec's working-order warranty, Ontario's safety certificate: the full checklist is on your city's page, for example Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto.
Frequently asked questions
Does Drive Good sell these vehicles?
No. Drive Good Marketplace shows vehicles for sale by dealers. Each listing names the dealer selling the vehicle, and you deal with them directly.
How do I check recalls on a used Ford?
Enter the serial number (VIN) in Transport Canada's recalls database, then ask the dealer whether the repairs were done.
Do prices include fees?
In Quebec, a dealer's advertised price includes every mandatory fee except GST, QST and the environmental fee on new tires. In Ontario, it includes everything except HST and licensing.
