Why Facebook Marketplace listings get removed, and how to avoid it

Updated October 2026

In short: most removals come from posting too fast or too repetitively, using more than one account or a shared login, and listings that don't match the vehicle. Slow down, make every listing unique and accurate, and use one account per person.

The 6 most common reasons

  1. Posting at very high frequency. Meta's spam rules cover posting "at very high frequencies," whether done "manually or automatically" (Meta Transparency Center).
  2. Repetitive content. Meta can restrict accounts at lower frequencies when there are other spam signals, such as repetitive content. Copy-pasted titles and descriptions look like spam.
  3. Several accounts or a shared login. Meta's terms allow one account per person and forbid sharing your password (Meta Terms).
  4. Inaccurate listings. A price, mileage or photo that doesn't match the vehicle.
  5. Duplicate listings. The same vehicle posted several times, or in several places at once.
  6. Posting from a business Page. Business Pages can't create vehicle listings since January 30, 2023 (CBT News).

What to do if a listing is removed

  1. Read the notice: it usually names the policy.
  2. Fix the listing: real price, real photos, accurate details.
  3. If you think it's a mistake, request a review from the notice.
  4. Slow down for a few days and vary your listings.

How to avoid it next time

  • One account per person, never shared
  • A steady pace instead of bursts
  • A unique description for each vehicle
  • Real photos and the real price
  • Sold vehicles removed the same day
